BY-LAW NO. 1
BE IT ENACTED as a BY-LAW relating
generally to the transaction of the affairs of the LAKE CLEAR
CONSERVANCY (hereinafter called the "Conservancy") as follows:
1. NAME
The name of the Corporation shall be the
LAKE CLEAR CONSERVANCY.
2. HEAD OFFICE
The Head Office of the Conservancy shall
be located in the Township of Sebastopol, or its successor
municipality, in the County of Renfrew, in the Province of
Ontario, at the place therein that the Board from time to time
determines. Operations of the Conservancy may be carried
on in Ontario, and throughout Canada.
3. CORPORATE SEAL
The Seal of the Corporation shall be in
the form impressed in the margin of this By-law.
4. OBJECTS
4.1 The primary object of the Conservancy
shall be to preserve and protect the natural, environmental,
historical and cultural heritage of Lake Clear and its environs
by:
(a) working in cooperation with all levels
of government, other like-minded organizations or agencies,
landowners, and other interests in the initiation of
projects, and in the acquisition, stewardship, and management of
land for purposes of conservation.
(b) supporting on-going educational
programs through the production and distribution of materials
promoting conservation and the purposes of the Conservancy, and
(c) promoting and encouraging alternative
land management techniques by local landowners, and agricultural
and industrial interests.
4.2 In support of the primary object, but
without limiting the Conservancy in any way, secondary
objectives shall be to:
(a) solicit, receive and administer
donations and bequests of real or personal property, and money,
and to engage in fund-raising activities;
(b) invest and borrow funds, and enter
into contracts and other arrangements;
(c) manage and maintain acquired lands
and/or partial interests, and
(d) do all such things as may be required
toward attaining the objectives of, and exercising all the
powers given the Conservancy under the Canada Corporations Act.
