Cormorant![]() Cormorants were first sited at Lake Clear in 2002. They can be found primarily on and around Cherry Island. In the water, they can look like loons with longer necks. In the trees, they are found in groups in the upper branches which are most bare from the eating of the vegetation.
The Double-crested Cormorant is found near rivers, lakes and along the coastline. It mainly eats fish and hunts by swimming and diving. Its feathers, like those of all cormorants, are not waterproof and it must spend time drying them out after spending time in the water.
