How We Can Preserve This Great Treasure

As cottage owners and residents of Lake Clear, we are proud of our beautiful lake, which is officially designated "at capacity", and we want to do everything possible to protect it.  We and all or our visitors can help by following these "ENVIRONMENTAL TIPS". The health of the lake depends on all of us.

ENVIRONMENTAL TIPS:

1.  DO NOT SHAMPOO OR USE SOAP IN THE LAKE.  Phosphates encourage algae growth which can destroy our clear water. See Water Quality and Lake Steward Readings.

2.  THINK BEFORE YOU CLEAR SHORELINE.  Vegetation prevents rapid runoff and seepage.  If you feel you must use fertilizers, make sure they are environmentally sensitve.  See Shorelines.

3.  PLEASE DO NOT LITTER, especially when boating, picnicking, or out for a stroll.  PLEASE CARRY IT HOME!  See Waste Management for waste site hours.

4.  BOAT SAFETY - Be aware of slow craft and especially careful to watch for swimmers and skiiers.  See Boating on the Lake for more informtation.

5.  With the exception of SMALL FIRES FOR WARMTH OR COOKING, FIRE PERMITS ARE REQUIRED between April 1st and November 1st.  Please call the Township for details.
